“Speaking in an interview with Shacknews, Games for Windows Live general manager Chris Early confirmed that Microsoft has definite plans to distribute full PC titles through its Marketplace application in the future.”

Also, before Steam was created, they apparently pitched the idea to both Microsoft and Yahoo, but both rejected: http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/microsoft-and-yahoo-rejected-steam-says-valve
I will say that I am impressed with live… I used it with fallout and recently formatted my PC… next time I booted up fallout my saved games were sitting there looking at me without having to save and transfer them from my old profile!
ReplyYeah, I like this idea and hope steam rolls with it in the future, however I was wondering how Live handles it exactly. Does it sync with a local copy? Or are you required to have an internet connection to load / save games?
ReplyI think you have to sign in to access your live save games…
Replywhen I first started playing I didn’t do anything on live then I logged in to live and I couldnt access my non-live save and had to replay the entire intro.
Thats kinda a bummer, hopefully the modify that in the future, I’m sure its an easy fix…they just need to sync it.
Replyjus so you know… I added a forum link that links to your forum for discussion!
