Steam is offering 22 Valve games for $99, this includes the unreleased Left 4 Dead.

This is a great deal if you do not have these games already, and even if you have a few of them it is still not bad!

Valve

Also, before Steam was created, they apparently pitched the idea to both Microsoft and Yahoo, but both rejected: http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/microsoft-and-yahoo-rejected-steam-says-valve

As the title expresses, this post is being posted from my new toy, my awesome iPhone. The posting of this thus perfects my desire to be more mobile while still being able to take you with me… Cheers!
Expect to see more frequent posts by me in locations other than my home.
In similar news I signed up to receive info on E3-09 and plan to go to that next June.

Gaming Weekly

No Gravatar

Welcome to my weekly news update. There has been a lot of news this week, more so than the past few weeks. Which is a shocker since GTA came out earlier this week, and I would think the rest of the media would be playing it instead of reporting.

Piracy is killing PC gaming?

It seems that no matter what happens in the games industry and no matter which games become successful bigger companies will blame piracy for their problems. now, I know that no big name exec will stumble upon this site and read my words of wisdom and be turned to a life of making quality titles that appeal to wide audience with the best form of antipiracy available… but it doesn’t hurt for me to explain my theories and possible solutions here to my 5 readers (I happen to be 2 of them so 3 readers).

Wednesday’s Gaming news

No Gravatar

Another Wednesday is upon us and as with every Wednesday there is news in the air… albeit not as much news as I would have liked, it seems that some AAA console title is coming out this week and if you are the all purpose gamer that I would think you are then you should already be in line waiting to pick it up. This game is of course GTAIV and as it is more likely than not to reach PC shores I will admit that I am excited for this game, but I cannot play it due to my lack of consoles and current overseas location. Pity come my way, all of you with the resources to play this game had better play it, play it good!

Welcome back folks, I’ve been out of it for a while now and I apologize. I plan on making it up to you by offering one of my new more condensed and only what matters version of the News. the idea is that instead o f digging around for all the news which mostly sucks I will only pull the news that I saw as important for the genre. This will probably help to drive a focus to this site, as being the only contributing author can be taxing on a newbie like myself.

Welcome to the first weekly games news syndication from GamersBeyond. This is the one stop PC centric need to know news for those that have better things to do than scour the net for info on your games. It may be weekly but I try to narrow the info to what is needed to make your PC gaming experience pristine. And if any of you would like to contribute or if you find my information inaccurate and would like to help me out, please let me know; my only scrutiny when choosing writing staff is if they are able to post regularly, the rest will come.

This week in PC gaming news we have some interesting tidbits, some huge tidbits, and some not so huge… well you get the idea. From Battlefield Heroes having only two maps, to eventual PC-game Prototype ditching multiplayer, and Ubisoft joining forces w/ steam this week had some ups and downs and hopefully we can get it all figured out below.
